Spray tanning
Do you come to my home?
Yes, it's a fully mobile service. I travel to you across Old Coulsdon, Coulsdon, Purley, Kenley, Caterham, Banstead and the nearby Surrey areas. A travel fee may apply depending on distance from CR5, always confirmed before you book.
Do I have to sleep in the tan?
No. I use an express solution, so you rinse it off before bed rather than sleeping in it. Your colour then keeps developing overnight and you wake up glowing.
What solution do you use?
A professional express solution that is vegan, paraben-free and cruelty-free. It develops quickly, so you rinse before bed rather than sleeping in it, and it gives a natural, streak-free colour rather than anything orange.
How long does the tan need to develop?
It depends how deep you want your colour, so I'll agree your rinse time with you at the appointment and send your aftercare before I leave.
When should I have my tan before an event?
Your tan looks its best around 48 hours after it is applied, so plan backwards from your event. For a Saturday evening, a Thursday appointment is usually perfect. If you are not sure, tell me your date and what time you need to look your best, and I will work the timing out with you.
How should I prepare?
Exfoliate and shave or wax at least 24 hours before, and have clean skin ready for me: no moisturiser, make-up, deodorant or SPF. I send you the full skin prep once you've booked, so please make sure you read it.
Do I need to tell you about other beauty treatments?
Yes please. Eyebrow tints, eyelash tints, eyelash extensions and waxing should all be done before your spray tan rather than after. The same goes for a pedicure, as having your feet scrubbed afterwards will take the colour straight off. Nails themselves are fine either side, just not while your tan is still developing. Let me know what you have booked and when, and I'll advise you.
What do I wear during the spray tan?
Whatever you feel comfortable in. Most people wear knickers or a thong, but it's entirely up to you, and I carry disposable thongs in my bag if you'd prefer. I provide sticky feet and a hairnet. Please never apologise for how you look. All bodies are different, I'm really not judging, and I want you to feel comfortable.
How does a spray tan work in my home?
I bring everything with me, including a pop-up tent that keeps the spray contained, so there's no mess. I just need a small space and good natural light, so somewhere near a window is ideal. I'll always turn the tent so you can't be seen from outside, and in the darker months I bring my ring light with me.
How much space do you need to set up?
The tent is about six feet tall and three feet wide, so I need enough clear floor for it to pop up, plus a bit of room around it for me to work. A hard floor is better than carpet, and somewhere with good natural light and a plug socket nearby is ideal. Kitchens usually work best, but a hallway or bathroom is often perfect too.
How long does the appointment take?
The spraying itself takes around 10 to 15 minutes and the whole visit is about 30 minutes. You're then free to carry on with your day, but remember you're marinading in your tan, so keep the guide colour intact: no washing up, no washing your hands, and wear something loose with no bra or anything that rubs.
What should I do afterwards?
I'll send your aftercare before I leave. Rinse at the time we agree, using water only for that first wash. Your tan keeps developing overnight. The next day you can wash with shower gel under your arms and so on, but avoid rubbing it into your skin, and steer clear of any soap or body wash that strips colour. Once you've had that second shower, you can start moisturising again.
Will my spray tan last on holiday?
Yes, with the right care. Rinse off in the poolside shower rather than soaking, moisturise daily, pat dry rather than rubbing, and avoid harsh exfoliating. A gradual tanning lotion is great for topping your colour up while you're away.
How long does a spray tan last?
Typically 5 to 7 days, depending on your skin and your aftercare. Following the aftercare properly makes a real difference to how evenly it fades.
How do I control how dark the tan goes?
Two ways: I'll help you choose the right solution shade for your skin tone, and the rinse time sets the depth, so rinsing earlier gives a lighter glow and leaving it longer develops a deeper bronze. We'll agree the look you want before I spray.
How will tanning affect my tattoos?
A spray tan won't hide your tattoos, they'll show through just as they do with a natural tan, and may look very slightly deeper while the colour develops. Tattoos must be fully healed before tanning over them, so if you have new ink, wait until it's completely healed.
Can you do a group of us together?
Yes. Spray tan parties are perfect for hen dos, proms, holidays and race days. Gather three or more people at one address and everyone saves on their tan. Message me with your date and numbers and I'll sort a quote.
Do you do tans for weddings?
Yes. A bridal and wedding tan is £30 and is timed around your wedding day so your colour is at its best for the morning. I always recommend a trial tan beforehand, booked as a separate appointment, so you can check you're happy with the colour and how it wears before the day itself.
When should I book my trial tan before a wedding?
Around four weeks before is ideal. Your tan lasts about five to seven days, so that gives you time to see it properly, enjoy it, and tell me anything you would like changed for the day itself. Lots of my brides tie their trial in with their hen do, or book it as a group so everyone can try their colour at the same time.
How much is a spray tan?
Every spray tan is £30, including for weddings. Group discounts are available when you book a spray tan party of three or more. A travel fee may apply depending on distance from CR5.
Can I have a spray tan while pregnant?
Yes, once you're past the first three months. Just let me know when you book so I can make sure you're comfortable throughout.
Hair
How should I prepare my hair before you arrive?
Wash and blow-dry your hair the night before, so it's dry when I arrive, unless I've told you otherwise. Please shampoo twice so it's really clean, and make sure it's bone dry before you sleep on it. Use your normal washing products, but please don't use serum, heat protectant, oil or any kind of cream, as these affect how the style turns out. I bring all the products I need with me. Please don't straighten it either, as that takes the body out of the hair and makes it harder to style. I have straighteners with me and will use them if needed.
What should I wear, and how should I set up?
Wear something that doesn't need to go over your head, so it won't disturb your hair or make-up. If you have a big mirror you can sit in front of, that's ideal, though I always bring my own mirror with me.
What should I have ready?
Have a look beforehand and save a few photos of styles you like, it really helps and saves time. Try to choose photos of hair a similar colour to your own, as the same style can look quite different on blonde and brunette hair.
How long does hair take?
I book an hour for hair appointments.
Are pins and padding included?
Yes, they're included in the price and you don't need to give them back.
How do I make sure my style lasts?
I use high-end products and layer them, so your style will stay put all day and into the evening. Just avoid rubbing the back of your hair on chairs, and try to dodge the hugs!
Are you taking wedding hair bookings?
Not for wedding parties at the moment, but I'm always happy to do hair for wedding guests. I work alongside some brilliant artists and can point you in the right direction for a full bridal party.
Do you do hair for events and races?
Yes, absolutely. Races, proms, parties and nights out are some of my favourite bookings, and you can pair it with a tan through the Hair & Tan package.
Do you do hair colour?
Not at the moment, sorry, I'm not taking on hair colour clients.
How do I book and pay?
Tap Bookings anywhere on this page and send your preferred date and time, or message me on Instagram. I'll reply to confirm, usually within 24 hours. Cash on the day is preferred, or I can send my bank details if you'd rather transfer.
